FN F2000: World’s Dangerous Rifle

The FN F2000 is considered as the seventh most dangerous gun in the world because it is gas operated. It was designed and created in Belgium by FN Herstal. It was first displayed in Abu Dhabi during the IDEX defense exhibition last 2001. The FN F2000 gun has three variants that you can choose.

Pic6FN F2000 is a fully automatic 5.56 x 45 mm NATO bullpop assault rifle.

FN F2000 has two main assemblies, the barrel, receiver group and the frame. The assemblies are connected by an axis pin. It has a removable hand guard, which is in front of the trigger and which also encloses the trigger guard. The shooter can shoot the target within a 500 meters range by using a 5.50 caliber. It can also fire 850 for every minute.

FN F2000 safety system and the trigger “mechereceiceranism” followed the previous gun P90 Personal Defense Weapon. The weapon can easily be secured from accidental firing when the fire selector becomes the weapon manual safety. The trigger ceased to function when the setting is adjusted to “safe” mode. The shell or frame of the rifle is made of combined materials. Most of its parts are made of nylon injection molding, however, its hammer, group pins and springs are made of steel.
FN F2000 rifle has no hold-open device; hence, the bolt does not stay back after firing the last round. It has a weapon sight located in the receiver which has a fixed magnification of 1.6 xs. Its reticle does not allow the rifle to be used in low light conditions. FN F2000 has a grenade launcher with standard velocity of 40 x 46 mm grenades. The grenade launcher’s trigger was placed under the F2000 trigger to make it easy to use without giving problems to the users.

Choosing A Home Defense Weapon

This topic seems to be one of the biggest questions when buying your first gun. We are going to go ahead and break down what gun is going to be the safest choice. We are not going to personally reccomend any of the mentioned guns. It all depends on the situation.

Lets start off with the most common gun used, the revolver. The revolver can be easily slipped into the night stand drawer and can be easily concealed if needed. Many revolvers come in different calibers such as the .38, .357, 32, and 22lr. Each one of these calibers can do great harm to a intruder and can easily eliminate a threat. We do suggest you stay with a larger caliber as many victims of a 22lr, tend to stay mobile (This of course depends on the situation and the accuracy of the shooter).

Jamming is never going to be a problem when using a revolver in a home defense situation. The chances of the gun working is almost 100%. You should have no problem with the overall performance of the weapon. The revolver is also a user friendly weapon. Almost anyone can load the bullets and pull the trigger. Very simple basic design that we have used for many years.

A common revolver these days for home defense usually holds only 5-6 rounds. This could cause you a major problem if you have multiple intruders. Leaving no room for missed shots or misfires. This is a large concern of those who are looking at this option as a self defense weapon.

Common Revolvers:

Taurus Revolvers
S&W Revolvers
Charter Arms Revolvers

The next common defense weapon is the pistol grip shotgun. Many people rely on this as their weapon of choice because of the size of the weapon, the damage it can cause, and the amount of bullets it can hold.

Pistol Grip Shotgun

Pistol Grip Shotgun

The shotgun can hold about eight 12Gauge rounds. This can do a lot of damage and cause serious harm. If you have multiple intruders and have a shotgun, your chances of the scenario ending in your favor is going to be way higher. Another great thing about a shotgun is having a pump action. If you were to hear someone breaking in your house you can easily slam the pump action and load a shell into the chamber. The sound of the shotgun being racked is going to be heard by the intruder. In most cases, this is going to scare off your intruder and might send him running. This is a win win situation. You didn’t have to kill someone and now the police can handle the situation. The shotgun is a very good choice when it comes to home defense.

The large size of the weapon prevents a problem. You are unable to keep this weapon in your room without someone seeing it. Therefore it has to be put into a closet or someone safe (This of course depends on your living arrangement). Jamming is also a concern. You don’t want to rack a shell in the chamber and it get jammed. This will definitely put you into a panic mode and just might cost you.

Common Shotguns:

Mossberg 500
Remington 870
Maverick 88

The last self defense weapon is the semi-auto. These guns are not as common as the other options because of a couple reasons. These are more common for those who prefer to just go to the range or shoot competition. These guns are not even a option to older woman trying to defend themselves. Most older woman cannot rack the slide because it takes a certain amount of strength to do so.

Can hold plenty of rounds to take care of the situation no matter how many intruders are breaking in. Having the ability to rack the slide so the intruder can hear you have a weapon is also a good thing. You want them to know you mean business(This is a debated topic as well. Some prefer not to let the intruder know. Just a personal preference.). Scaring the intruder can play a major role in the outcome of the situation. If you scare them, they are not going to stick around. If they scare you, they have the upper hand and could lead to a very bad situation.

Once again jamming is a major factor here. If you are in a highly tense situation you are going to be shaking. With shaking comes the chance of jamming. You don’t need this if you are already in a high stressed situation. The chances of you unjamming the gun and being back on target are going to be very low.

Common Semi-Autos:

Sig Sauer

I hope this helps you and if you have any suggestions or comments please feel free to leave them. I am not perfect nor am I telling you which one to choose. This is all based on information I have received from selling guns for many years. I would love some input and would be willing to add you comments.

New Hampshire – House approves allowing guns on campus

Boston.com – Reports:

CONCORD, N.H.—Ignoring a threatened veto, New Hampshire’s House voted Wednesday to strip colleges of their right to prohibit guns on their campuses.

The Republican-controlled House voted 180-144 to send the bill to the Senate, where its fate is uncertain

The bill would end colleges’ ability to prohibit guns on campuses, including in classrooms. The bill would give the Legislature authority to regulate guns on any public land or in publicly owned or financed buildings, except the courts.

Gov. John Lynch, a Democrat, said Tuesday he would veto the bill if it reaches his desk. He said the bill could mean private companies leasing state-owned office space at Pease International Tradeport would not be able to bar people from bringing weapons into their businesses.

Pease is an industrial and business park with locations in Newington and in Portsmouth.

Opponents argued Wednesday that allowing guns on campuses, in classrooms and in state-owned buildings is dangerous.

State Rep. Stephen Shurtleff, D-Concord, said the bill would mean people could bring guns into theVerizonWireless Arena and Fisher Cats baseball stadium in Manchester. The arena is the site of concerts, hockey games and other events.

“Imagine if there is a hip-hop concert at the Verizon arena,” he said.

State Rep. Rick Watrous, D-Concord, said he teaches at a community college and teachers don’t want to deal with students carrying guns.

“We have enough classroom management issues without wondering if our students are armed and dangerous,” he said.

But supporters said students have every right to carry guns to protect themselves.

State Rep. Mark Warden, R-Goffstown, called it a commonsense bill that will eliminate inconsistency in how guns are regulated. Warden also said it was a move in the right direction to allow students to carry guns on college campuses.

The House has yet to vote on two other gun bills that Lynch also promised to veto. One would eliminate the need for a license to carry concealed, loaded weapons anyplace where gun possession is legal. It also would increase from four to five years the length of time a permit is valid. The bill also would make it legal to transport unlicensed guns.

The House passed a similar bill last session, but the Senate postponed action on it until this year. Neither the latest House bill nor the one passed last year would relax federal prohibitions such as banning felons from carrying weapons. Vermont, Arizona and Alaska don’t require a permit.

The second bill would loosen a 74-year-old ban on loaded rifles and shotguns in vehicles. Weapons inside vehicles would be allowed to contain clips of ammunition as along as no bullets were loaded into the firing chamber.

The House could vote on them as early as Thursday

New Hampshire is becoming a fast growing second amendment state. They were in the news a week ago. New Hampshire could become the fourth state to eliminate the need for a carry permit. They are currently waiting on the senate to pass the bill and they will be well on their way.

Protecting Yourself Against Car Jacking

Carjacking is a common crime that Americans tend to take for granted, until it happens. The term carjacking was not even heard of until the early 1960’s. In the past years the term has been one of the common words heard on your local news stations. The crime rate for carjacking is increasing and people are starting to slowly notice that they are not safe even in their own car. Being prepared for such an event is the best way to stay protected. Many U.S. states, such as Louisiana and Arizona, include defending oneself against forcible entry of an occupied motor vehicle as part of their definition of justifiable homicide.

74% of carjackings, a weapon was used to gain entry to a vehicle, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics.  Depending on the state you live in such as Florida, you are able to have a loaded weapon in your car in the glove box at all times ready to go without aquiring a concealed weapons permit. This is the most helpful tool you could use against an attempted carjacker. You do not want to be the one who has no way to defend themselves.

There are many ways one can defend themselves and prepare to stop a carjacking from happening. The first step in making sure you are prepared is taking a self defense class. This will prepare you not only mentally but physically as well. After taking your self defense class you may want to acquire about taking a gun safety class. This will teach you the basic knowledge of a firearm and how to use one if in a life threatening situation. Once obtaining the training from these classes you should feel confident in purchasing a firearm. You want to pick something that is going to be reliable and something that is going to be small enough to conceal or hide in your vehicle. Small revolvers work perfect for a car. They cant jam and they have no problems fitting in your glove box.

Now that you have purchased your firearm you need to go to the range and practice practice practice. You want to feel comfortable when holding your weapon just in case a situation happens you already have the feel for your weapon and know what to expect. When you become involved in a intense situation the first thing to happen to your body is you loose your fine motor skills. You will be in fear and will not have the best thinking capabilities. Preparing yourself for this moment will increase your chances of survival.

Don’t be a victim! Get yourself prepared for any situation that you might become involved in.
