Sightmark announced the arrival of a new red dot that runs off a single CR2032 battery with an option for solar power should the battery die during use.

The Element Mini Solar Red Dot is a 1x28mm compact sight with a 3-MOA red dot. Should the unit’s battery run out of juice, the Element’s Dual Power technology kicks in and allows the device to continue running via solar power. With solar cells sitting on top of the optic, the red dot is said to work in almost any environment on “everything from MSR platforms to tactical shotguns,” according to Sightmark.

The Element Mini Solar offers an absolute co-witness mount with adjustable height and adjustment caps that act as tools to allow for windage/elevation adjustments. The optic also features manual digital switch brightness controls, though it is equipped with an auto-brightness system known as the Eclipse Light Management System. The system configures the reticle’s brightness based on ambient light.

The Element Mini Solar red dot features a low Picatinny mount and comes with Sightmark’s Lifetime Warranty. The optic is priced at $239.
