Smith & Wesson adds to its popular M&P Shield lineup with a new Performance Center EZ model chambered in 9mm.
Sporting a bevy of upgrades, the newest M&P Shield EZ brings an easy-to-use design with enhanced features. Notable upgrades include a ported barrel, flat-face trigger, tuned action, and “striking black, silver, and gold accents.” The pistol also provides HI-VIZ Litewave H3 sights, a crisp trigger, and an 18-degree grip angle for a natural aim.
“Performance Center has the ability to design and manufacture specialty upgrades normally found in aftermarket work, straight from the factory. With the popularity of the M&P9 Shield EZ, we set out to develop Performance Center versions with porting, a tuned action, aftermarket sights, and more. These new pistols deliver easy-to-use features with the custom upgrades that our customers expect the Performance Center to deliver,” Tony Miele, Sr. Director of New Products and Performance Center, said in a news release.
Geared towards the personal and home defense crowd, the Performance Center Shield EZ offers a 3.8-inch barrel and 8+1 capacity. The handgun ships with two 8-round mags with load-assist tabs for easier loading. Additionally, users can throw on a light or laser via the Picatinny-style rail. Consumers have the choice of a manual thumb safety model or one without.
MSRP on the Performance Center Shield EZ rests at $588.
